Jättipalsamin torjuntatalkoot Sumiaisissa

Thu 4.6.2026
15:00 - 19:00

A harmful invasive species threatens our native wild plants! Join the volunteer event even for just an hour or two and learn to identify Himalayan balsam. Let’s work together to stop its spread in our local nature.

Controlling Himalayan balsam is best started before flowering and seed set. Hand-pulling and cutting are effective ways to remove it. The plant is easy to pull up, as it comes out of the ground readily.

Tools are provided on site, but please bring work gloves, high-top shoes, a hat, weather-appropriate clothing, and your own water bottle. Drinking water is available from a spring and from the cottage tap. Food and coffee will be provided for volunteers, so advance registration is requested.

Carpooling is recommended; if you need or can offer a ride, please mention it when registering.

Welcome to join for an hour or more—whatever suits you!
