Part of the 10th-anniversary year of Äänekosken seurakunnan kirkkomuseo, the performance tells of an Ostrobothnian woman named Walpuri, who serves her community as a midwife and washer of the dead. The story moves between life’s two extremes—birth and death—and mirrors Walpuri’s life in the cycle of nature. The monologue is written by Katri Taanila, a theologian, teacher, and pioneer of church drama.
