The village tour organized by Äänekoski Cultural Services will take place 28–30 August at the village halls of Konginkangas, Mämmen and Saarikkaan.

At each stop on the tour, Ville-Veikko Liekkinen, Olga and Henry Kolari's band Mistica, and Muumiomummot will perform.

In addition, Äänekosken Kalevalaiset naiset will run, at all tour locations, among other things, a rya rug-making workshop that will culminate in a community-made rya at the end of the tour.

According to the city, the tour is carried out in close cooperation with the village associations.

The idea for the village tour was born at a cultural forum held in February through participatory budgeting, and an open call for works for the tour was held in May. All performers on the tour are local.

Ville-Veikko Liekkinen's man-and-guitar performance is Finnish-language indie folk rock with a strong focus on lyrics. Mistica's music blends old instruments, elements of folk/ethnic music, and electronic music in a way where past and tradition meet the present.

In Muumiomummot's program, they present their newly released book and pull funny aphorisms from a hat.

The village tour will stop at Konginkangas village hall on Friday 28 August at 18:00, at Mämmen village hall on Saturday 29 August at 17:00, and at Saarikkaan village hall on Sunday 30 August at 15:00.

Admission to the village tour events is free.
