Naapuruusviikko is a week of events aimed at strengthening community, increasing interaction, and reducing loneliness. In Finland, Setlementtiliike brings the week to many localities by organizing various neighbourliness-themed discussions, activities, and events across different areas. This year’s theme for the Koskela event is "Neighbourhood communities as everyday safety nets for residents".

Speakers include local resident activists from Äänekoski’s villages and urban areas, as well as employees from various organizations. The event is part of Setlementtiliitto’s Naapuruusviikko programme.

Why is Naapuruusviikko important?

Loneliness decreases when we meet each other.

Interaction grows when we make time for brief chats.

The sense of safety strengthens when we know our neighbours.

Neighbourly help and community spirit grow when we offer help and dare to ask for it.

Noticing and caring make everyday life warmer for all of us.

A warm welcome!
