The summer 2026 exhibition Kotirintamalla koettua by Konginkankaan kotiseutuyhdistys Kömin Kilta ry. Also on view: the permanent agricultural tools exhibition.

Kotirintamalla koettua shares many stories from wartime experiences on the home front: fear and effort, shortage and exhaustion, letters and longing, stolen moments together.

There was propaganda, rationing and public provisioning, and the resettlement of evacuees. Mobilization took place. Loved ones were sent to the front. Life meant hard work, learning everything anew, and funerals.

But there was also a strong will to defend the country and firm faith in better days. Suojeluskunta units and Lotta Svärd organizations were founded.
